Infinity security & data handling

How Infinity controls access to geological information, handles AI requests and supports responsible sharing.

Implementation reviewed

A dated overview of implemented controls

This page describes application controls checked through source review and focused automated tests. It is not an independent security certification or a guarantee against every incident. Production configuration, provider terms and your organization’s requirements need separate verification. The existing Privacy Statement explains broader information-handling practices.

Account, workspace and role controls

The public website and file viewer can be reached without signing in. Access to protected account and workspace functions is checked by the server.

ACCOUNT

Verified sign-in

The server verifies the signed-in user and their current account profile. Protected workspace requests require an active account.

WORKSPACE

Scoped access

Workspace identity and role come from the verified session. The application checks account and workspace scope when retrieving protected information.

ROLE

Controlled changes

Viewer permissions restrict changes to geological records while allowing supported personal display preferences. Viewing permission does not prevent screenshots or copying information already received.

PRIVATE RESEARCH

Server-side restrictions

Owner-restricted research is filtered at the server, including library search, direct record retrieval and research context supplied to geobrAIn.

SESSION

Protected cookies

Session cookies use Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite attributes. Authenticated gateway responses use no-store cache directives to limit unintended browser and intermediary caching.

TEAMS

Limited viewing capability

Infinity’s Teams viewing capability is encrypted, bound to its intended site and time-limited. Requests also check the live account and workspace. The capability restricts access to supported viewing functions.

What geobrAIn sends for AI processing

When a user submits an AI request, the question, recent conversation history and included well context, document excerpts or images can be transmitted to OpenAI to produce the response. Review the included material and your company’s AI policy before submitting confidential information.

Selected content leaves the application for processing

Question + recent conversation + included context → OpenAI API → generated response

This is a conceptual data-flow summary. It does not mean every stored well record is sent with every question.

Read OpenAI’s current API data controls. AI output requires geological and operational review before use.

Device drafts, uploads and exported reports

Browser and device storage

Recovery drafts, cached working information and preferences may remain in browser or device storage. Account scoping in the application is not a claim that local drafts are encrypted. Use approved devices, screen locking and your organization’s storage and disposal procedures.

Private files

Protected research uploads are retrieved through account-scoped server checks. A file’s confidentiality also depends on who is granted access and where downloaded copies are kept.

Interactive reports and Infinity Viewer

Exported .gnav packages and standalone HTML reports contain the information included in the export. The public viewer reads the supplied report; opening it does not grant access to an Infinity account. A distributed copy is outside the protection of the account login and cannot be assumed revocable. Review its contents and share it through client-approved channels.

Service providers and responsibility

The reviewed implementation uses Supabase for account authentication, Cloudflare Workers with configured database and object-storage services, and OpenAI for geobrAIn processing. Different information types can follow different service paths. A provider’s certification or general security documentation does not certify the complete Infinity application.

Specific storage regions, encryption-at-rest and key-management arrangements, retention periods and provider agreements must be confirmed for each client requirement. This page does not promise Canadian-only storage or end-to-end encryption. See Supabase’s shared-responsibility guidance.

What has been checked—and what needs confirmation

Review scope as of 26 October 2026
AreaEvidence and limits
Application access controlsSource review and focused automated tests cover sign-in flows, workspace separation, viewer restrictions, private research retrieval and Teams capabilities.
Published browser assetsA targeted scan checked existing built assets for known private-research markers. This does not establish that every possible disclosure path has been tested.
Independent testing / certificationNo independent penetration-test report or Infinity-specific SOC 2 / ISO 27001 certification is established by this review.
MFA / enterprise SSOMandatory MFA and enterprise SSO for Infinity users are not established by this review. Provider support for a feature does not prove it is enabled in Infinity.
Audit, backups and recoveryComprehensive security audit logging, backup coverage, retention and tested recovery time / recovery point objectives require verification.
Production and provider configurationLive cross-company access testing, hosting regions, encryption-at-rest arrangements and AI account settings require separate evidence.

Before placing confidential client data in Infinity

Ask GeoNavigate to document the requirements that apply to your organization and confirm the corresponding evidence:

  1. Who may access each workspace and well, and how is access removed?
  2. Which authentication and administrator MFA requirements apply?
  3. Where are records, uploads, backups and AI requests processed or stored?
  4. What are the agreed retention, deletion, export and recovery arrangements?
  5. Which AI use cases and included data types are approved by the client?
  6. What independent assessment, incident reporting and support arrangements are required?

For an access concern or security question, contact GeoNavigate / Chaser Geological or email jyoung@chasergeological.com. Describe the issue without sending passwords, access tokens or unnecessary confidential well information.

Review and change control

This overview reflects the implementation reviewed on 26 October 2026. Feature availability, provider policies and configuration can change. It does not replace a client agreement, data-processing terms or a client-specific security assessment.
