SW SASKATCHEWAN GEOLOGY / HYDROCARBON POTENTIAL
Offline browser viewer — release 28 October 2026

START THE VIEWER

1. Extract the complete ZIP. Keep all folders together.
2. Open a terminal in the extracted SW_Saskatchewan_Offline_Viewer folder.
3. Use an existing Python 3 installation:

   Windows: py serve.py
   macOS / Linux: python3 serve.py

4. Open http://127.0.0.1:8765/ in your browser.
5. Leave the terminal open. Stop the server with Ctrl+C when finished.

If the port is occupied, add --port 8766 and open http://127.0.0.1:8766/.
The server uses only Python's standard library and accepts connections only
from this computer, at 127.0.0.1. It installs no dependencies.

Do not double-click index.html: browsers restrict module and JSON loading
from file:// URLs. Start the small local server as described above.

CONTENTS AND CONTROLS

Five tabs provide the regional 3D model, formation/paleoenvironment chapters,
reservoir settings, the Saskatchewan regional programme, and sources/methods.
Drag to orbit, right-drag to pan, scroll to zoom. On touch screens, one finger
orbits and two fingers pan or zoom. Formation and reservoir searches help
find particular stratigraphic units, facies, criteria and named pool settings.

The runtime, vendor libraries, model, wells, pool layers and figures are bundled.
The PDF reports and formation-edge guide are included. Portable GLB models
(1x and 25x vertical relief) are separate downloads from the online study. Download cards in this offline copy list only included files.
Primary references and links back to GeoNavigate require internet access.

WebXR depends on a compatible browser and headset; physical headset operation
has not been verified. This loopback server is accessible only on this computer.
Portable GLBs can be opened directly in compatible 3D software. Model axes and
projection are described in their embedded metadata.

HOW TO READ THE EVIDENCE

The core southwest study is the proposed geographic indexing window between
110W and 106W, 49N and 51.25N. These study boundaries are not geological
contacts, resource boundaries, mineral ownership, or land availability.
Future regions in the programme tab are not completed studies in this package.
The subsequent Northern Montana / North Dakota phase begins after Saskatchewan
is complete; no US well data or formation surfaces are included here.

Every model horizon retains source and processing notes. Mesh limits can mark
source coverage, erosion, or a display boundary: a mesh edge alone is not proof
of a depositional pinch-out. Gross top-to-top intervals are not net reservoir,
net pay, effective porosity or oil thickness. No reservoir probability, reserve
volume or exact paleoshoreline is established by these regional surfaces.

Pool polygons are government-mapped footprints. They follow a documented
regional reference horizon only where there is valid model support. Amber
unsupported portions stay on the 0m reference plane; that plane is not ground
level, a surveyed reservoir depth or an oil-water contact. A regional formation
reference does not resolve member-level reservoir depth or connected pay.

Well locations, mapped plan traces, documented measured depths, true vertical
depths and surveys remain separate. A plan trace is not a 3D survey. Vertical
illustrations require a supplied depth and are labelled assumptions when no
3D survey is available. Unknown TDs remain unknown; a deepest picked top,
completion interval or sample depth is never substituted for TD. Planned or
cancelled records retain their source depth attributes but are not drawn as
drilled vertical columns. Legacy bottom-formation matches are labelled as such.

The geological chapters distinguish published observations, interpretations,
and testable nearby-reservoir concepts. Proximity to a pool does not establish
facies continuity, permeability, seal, fluid charge or commercial success.
Read the source inventory for the actual data vintage and entity definitions.

ATTRIBUTION AND INTEGRITY

Contains source-attributed public information from Saskatchewan and Canadian
geological authorities. Original sources, dates and limitations are listed in
the study and data files. Derived interpretations are independent; government
endorsement is not implied. Three.js is included under its MIT licence.

package_manifest.json records the bytes and SHA-256 hash of every bundled file.
The ZIP is verified for complete runtime/data links, download signatures,
manifest hashes, and ZIP integrity before release. Packaging modifies only
local download cards, actual file sizes, and public return links in this copy.

FORMATION EDGES AND CUSTOM CONTOURS — 28 OCTOBER 2026

All browser runtime, vendor modules, full model/well/pool data and figures
are included, including geological-overlays.mjs, contour-math.mjs and the
overlay stylesheet. The live controls generate supported top-elevation or
gross-thickness contours using the chosen interval and origin. No contour
bridges unsupported model triangles. The edge guide explains evidence types.

PORTABLE GLBS ARE SEPARATE DOWNLOADS
The two portable GLBs are complete separate downloads at
https://geonavigate.ca/regional-geology/sw-saskatchewan/#sources
They are not required to run this offline browser viewer and are not
duplicated in this ZIP. Their fixed 50 m structure contours differ from
the user-defined browser contour settings. Local download cards show only
files included here; the original online study catalogue remains separately
identified in package_manifest.json by its scientific-content hash.
