This feature class shows the location of Non-Vertical (horizontal, slant, directional and vertical) wells for mapping purposes, and surface and subsurface analysis. The well location information was taken from survey plans and entered in to the Ministry's IRIS system and is the best representation of the information that has been submitted.
This feature class shows the location of non-vertical (horizontal) wells surface and bottom hole spatial geometry that have been licenced under The Oil and Gas Conservation Act and Regulations and The Oil and The Gas Conservation Regulations 2012 across Saskatchewan for the purpose drilling, operating, producing/injecting or exploring an upstream oil and gas well, mineral exploration potash wells, in Saskatchewan. The following attributes fields are either reported elements that have been submitted into the Ministry's IRIS System and or are derived based on the wells targeted substance type and the wells operational status.

Internal feature number.
Esri
Sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated.
Is an IRIS-generated reference number (e.g. SK1234567) that is assigned at the time of well licensing (not to be confused with a well licence) and used to unambiguously identify and retrieve information about a specific well, wellbore or well completion.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Refers to the identification of wells that have been previously licensed and are now considered legacy wells. The well name also gave reference to local town or area that would have been recorded at the time of well licencing.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Unique number identifying the well licence.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Describes the date when the licence was issued, YYYY-MM-DD.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Defines the current licensee company or business associate for the well.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Defined as the period of time that the wells information submitted remains confidential from the wells finished drilling date. (5 years, 1 year, 30 days).
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Defined as the date that the information submitted on a well is no longer confidential, YYYY-MM-DD.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Describes the well path trajectory that was attained, (vertical, horizontal, directional, slant).
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Defines the overall operating status of a well, comprising one or more wellbores with the same well origin. The value of the well status will change as the well progresses through it's lifecycle.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Identifies if a well was re-entered well or not with a "True" or "False" statement.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
The date at which the initial physical drilling operations commenced for a particular well. This date is equal to the Drilling Activity Start Date of a well’s first drilling activity. A spud date is assigned by IRIS to every well and does not change when a subsequent drilling activity is performed on the same well. In the date format YYYY-MM-DD.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Identifies the date when the well downhole was properly abandoned in compliance with all applicable regulations, YYYY-MM-DD.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
The numeric code that represents the Rural Municipality within which a well's origin at the earth's surface is located.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
The general geographical region where the data point is located. Identifies the geographic/oil grade areas. ''1' = Lloydminster, '2' = Kindersley,'3' = Swift Current,'4' = Estevan.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Identifies the Well's Geographic position using surface longitude coordinates.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Identifies the Easting distance for the surface of the well.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Identifies the Northing distance for the surface of the well.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Identifies the Universal Transverse Mercator measurement for the surface of the well, NAD 83 CSRS.

Ministry of Energy and Resources
Unique Well Identifier, developed by the Canadian Petroleum Association and widely used by most of the Canadian petroleum industry including government. 'SK WI 192103501817W300'.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Defines the type of a specific wellbore, either ''Boss' or 'Leg'.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Defines the current state of this wellbore. The value of the wellbore status will change over the lifecycle of the well. 'Planned', 'Cancelled', 'Drilling', 'Drilled', 'Abandoned', 'Deepened'.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Identifies the bottom hole measured depth in meters of the wellbore.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Identifies the bottom hole true vertical depth of a well for directionally drilled or horizontal wells. True vertical depth (TVD): Means the vertical distance, expressed in meters measured from the Kelly Bushing of the drilling rig to the horizontal plane containing the point of interest.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
Identifies the well's geographic position using the bottom hole latitude coordinates.
Ministry of Energy and Resources
